Annual President's Awards

Since 1979, the prestigious Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa's (IITPSA) Annual President's Awards has highlighted talent and commitment within the ICT industry. In 2021 GovChat was recognised as a finalist in the Technology Excellence Award, which recognises a person or team who has made exceptional use of information technology, designed an innovative new technology, and has exhibited technological excellence for the measurable benefit of business and / or the South African Economy.

 

Public Sector Innovation Awards

The Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) operates within the Portfolio of the Minister for Public Service and Administration and is tasked with entrenching the culture and practice of innovation in the Public Sector. Its official awards ceremony recognises and rewards initiatives and solutions that address and improve service delivery challenges through innovation. In 2021 GovChat was awarded 3rd Runner Up in the Citizen-Focussed Innovation category.

 

BCX Digital Innovation Awards

The BCX Digital Innovation Awards was launched in 2019 to recognise and reward digital Innovation excellence in South African Corporates and SME's. The criteria for these awards is Digital Innovation in any industry sector who have used technology to improve an existing process or product, or to develop an entirely new process or product - in order to achieve remarkable results, meet planned company KPIs and, if possible, make a difference within South Africa. In 2020 GovChat was shortlisted as a finalist in the SME category.

 

MTN App of the Year Awards

Since 2012 the MTN App of the Year Awards has entrenched itself as the premier app development competition in South Africa, celebrating local talent and out-the-box thinkers that drive disruption and change, and attracting a high calibre of entrants - many of whom have gone on to become household names. In 2020 GovChat was recognised as a Finalist in 3 categories: Most Innovative Solution; Best South African App; and The People's Choice Award.

 

SITA GovTech Awards

The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) Public Service ICT Awards brings together government and business leaders, professionals and practitioners to discuss, deliberate and explore the intelligent use of information and communication technology (ICT) within the public sector designed to improve the quality of life of citizens, promote inclusive economies and stimulate growth. In 2016 GovChat was awarded First Runner Up in the ICT Service Delivery Transformation Award and won R50,000.
